Logistic Contractor strengthens its presence in Denmark, Norway and Finland

Logistic Contractor goes into 2021 with excellent conditions for further strengthening its presence in the Danish, Norwegian and Finnish markets. The offices in these three countries have strong local sales organisations with experienced employees who have strong expertise in property development and construction. The support organisation for foreign subsidiaries at Logistic Contractor’s office in Gothenburg has also been reinforced.

“I am delighted over our recent recruitments. We now have a stable foundation from which we will continue growing as we sign contracts for new projects,” comments Sandu Nylmon, CEO of Logistic Contractor’s Norwegian, Danish and Finnish subsidiaries.

At the end of 2020, a contract was signed with DHL to construct a new parcel terminal and office at Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup. The total area is 26,000 sqm and the project is worth approximately SEK 0.5 billion.

“We’ve been carrying out piling and other groundwork since the start of the year and began work on the frame in early February. We’re now recruiting more employees to bolster our production organisation as we enter an intensive construction phase. We will hand the terminal over to DHL in summer 2022. Parallel to this, we’re finishing off some supplementary works on the 55,000 sqm terminal, warehouse and office facility we recently built for DSV near Oslo. The contracts for DHL and DSV are both large, complex projects which we couldn’t have carried out without the specialist expertise and experience that LC has for this type of large logistics facility, and these are valuable reference projects to support our continued marketing efforts.

There are also excellent reference projects in Sweden, where Logistic Contractor has been operating since 2004 and has built around eighty large logistics and industrial facilities, several of them with a high sustainability profile. Certification according to Breeam or the Sweden Green Building Council and the installation of resource-efficient heating systems with solar panels and geothermal heat have been part of Logistic Contractor’s offering for several years and are increasingly demanded by clients.

“We are noticing that the prospective customers we’re in touch within Finland, Norway and Denmark see it as a strength that we have enjoyed more than fifteen years of growth in Sweden, and that we have a list of accomplishments in our area of specialisation that few other players can match. The 36,000 sqm facility that we’re currently developing and building for the online retailer MatHem in Stockholm and the 100,000 sqm automotive battery factory we’re building for Northvolt in Skellefteå are projects that have attracted attention outside Sweden, as have our construction projects for well-known e-retailers such as Nelly, Lyko and Apotea,” Nylmon concludes.
